2 1/2 Months

Landon has been trying to talk so much lately. And, he's been really kicking those legs...we think he's going to crawl pretty early if he continues what he's been doing lately. Anyway, his personality comes out a little more each day.

Here's a photo of his first time to daycare with our good friend Cindy. He did really good! We didn't know how he would adjust, but he seems to be doing fine. At least he's with a friend, and at least he only has to be away from us a few hours a day or two a week. Landon says hi!...actually, he says something more like, "aye" or "i"... :)

2 Month Stats

Before I forget...Here's Landon's 2 month (9 weeks old) stats:
-13lbs. 1oz.
-24" long
-16" head

Landon had an exciting time during the week of July 4th. We took him to the fireworks and he had the biggest eyes we've ever seen. He really liked them until the very end after the grand finale when all the big booms went off. But, he was very intrigued by the bright flashes of color.

Landon also had his first shots this week...a painful experience for him and for us...watching this is not fun...if you've experienced it...then, you know what we mean. He had a few rough days as the pain in his legs wore off, but he did get to the beach and enjoyed his cousins who came to see him. -Chris and Mindy

2 Months Old!

2 Months Old!
Landon is officially 2 months old! In the last week, he's been very alert to his surroundings, he's been smiling a lot, and even let out a short squealing laugh this past Saturday night. He's becoming a wonderful big boy with a personality all of his own. Hope you enjoy these photos. - Chris and Mindy

Photos at 7 Weeks

Here's some photos from his 7th week of life. We made a quick trip home to Indiana before Mindy began working so the rest of Chris' extended family could see Landon before he gets too old. ;) -Chris and Mindy

A month old already!?!

The first month has gone by really quick. Landon is getting big, and losing that newborn look. On Memorial Day we were blessed to hear his first laugh...he thought mommy having the hiccups was pretty funny! We've heard him laugh a couple times since then. He is smiling more now. He used to only smile when he was farting, but now he's doing it for fun. He's started to be interested in his toes and the activity gives him some entertainment. But, the best part is he's still a baby and he's doing all of those funny baby things - who could ask for anything more?

Landon Chillin' and Illin'

A few pix of Landon hanging out. One mad, one happy. ;) You've got to love his shirt. - Chris and Mindy

Wow! We've got a baby totin' machine

We were able to trade Mindy's car in for this great, slightly-used Ford Freestyle. We got an amazing deal. It's so much easier than our other vehicles. Thank you Grandpa Clifton...he's still helping us from the great beyond. - Chris

10 lbs. 1oz

Well, Landon went recently for his regular checkup and we discovered he had gained almost a pound in 9 days! So, he's growing well. His eyes are clearing up and his legs are getting strong. -Chris and Mindy

Landon Celebrates 3 Weeks

Landon celebrates his 3 weeks with some Starbucks; It's appropriate because going to Starbucks was his first trip out of the house. - Chris

Week Three: We've Only Just Begun

The family has left and it's just us three (plus 2 cats) now. So, we're getting a few things done, catching up on thank you cards, and Landon's trying out some of his stuff this week too!

We had another pediatrician appointment and everything looks good so far, except for some watery eye problems. We were surprised to see him gain a lot of weight this past week. But, the doctor said he's right where he should be in terms of growth.

Landon was born at 8lbs 9oz; he left the hospital at 7lbs 14oz; He was 8lbs 1oz at his first appointment; and was a whopping 8lbs 14oz this past Wednesday. So, he's growing and looking healthy. - Chris and Mindy

Week Two: Recap

Landon had his first visit to the pediatrician last week. He screamed most of the time, but that's to be expected. Everything was fine, but his jaundice had increased a little . We were sent to the hospital two days in a row to get his jaundice test again. Poor little guy screamed his head off during those painful lab tests. But, the good news is that he has greatly improved this past week. So, no more painful tests for now.

In his first week, Landon had his first visit to Starbucks, Target, John G's Restaurant, and even Lion Country Safari.

Landon also had lots of visitors including friends and family like Nana Hymer, Grandpa and Grandma Clifton, Grandpa Hymer, and his cousin Ezra along with Uncle Chase and Aunt Rowena. Here's a few photos for ya. - Chris and Mindy

Day Seven: Getting Out

We're catching up on our day 7 post...Chris is back to work, Mindy is feeling really good, and Landon and mommy have started taking some stroller rides outside. He has a big day tomorrow...his first pediatrician appointment! I don't think he is going to be happy, but I'm sure he won't scream as much as he did when he got his first bath at home a couple of days ago. Wow! He was so worked up, he turned himself as red as a chili pepper. It's hard to believe he is already a week old! Wow, again! And, we can't believe he really is our baby, but it's becoming more familiar - and, that's a good thing. ;) -Chris and Mindy

Day Six: A Good Night's Sleep

If every night could be like last night's schedule...I think we can make it. He slept quite a lot last night. Hopefully, it signals what will come. Here he is sunning himself today in his nursery room. -Chris

Day Five: Getting Used to Home

Landon is starting to get used to a new home...new sounds, new smells, and new things to see. All that excitement has worn him out. ;) - Chris

Day Four: Weeesa Comin' Home!

We made it! Landon and Mindy were cleared from the hospital today and we were able to come home! Everyone is doing well. Here's a lot of photos for ya! -Chris and Mindy

Day Three: Experiments in Sleep Deprivation

Yep, the third day was a little more difficult. But, we are beginning to figure out how this little guy works. So, we make a few adjustments and he is content. It's still hard to believe we have a son! It's a surreal experience. -Chris and Mindy

Day Two: Mommy Time

After a very long first day at the hospital, we all got a little rest today...even Landon. He was up almost the entire first day of his life. He finally got some rest early this morning and started feeding too. So, things are going well and he's started to settle into a routine. He passed his hearing test today among many other tests. He was circumcised this morning too - a little traumatic for him, but afterwards he slept a long time. Mindy is recovering and was able to get up and walk around a little today. So, Landon and Mindy are improving steadily. Even though our hospital room has been very cramped, staying at the hospital has been a great experience. We've had so much time to spend together as a family. We've started to learn Landon's communication cues and marvel at his attempt to learn and process us and his surroundings. Quite a cool experience! Thanks so much for all the flowers and balloons! Our room is very festive. Love you all!
